Standard Birth Package

3 Prenatal Visits:

  1. Get to Know You Visit: During this session we will talk about things like how your pregnancy is progressing, any medical concerns I should be aware of, previous birth experiences, how you are feeling mentally, physically, and emotionally, how your partner is feeling, general plans for the birth, etc. You will also be able to ask me any questions about myself and start building our relationship. (Approx. 1 hour)

  2. Birth Plan Session: During this session we will work through your birth plan in depth, utilizing my birth plan template. We will cover things like where you would like to give birth, who you would like to be there (or not be there), interventions, what kind of atmosphere/vibe you want, who you want to cut the cord, how you want to push, etc. (Approx. 1.5 hours)

  3. Birth Education + Comfort Measures Visit: This session is all about educating you on what the heck is actually happening with your body during labor. We will talk about the stages of labor, the work your hormones are doing, how your baby moves through the pelvis and birth canal, and, most importantly, how you can use that knowledge to optimize your birth. We will alsoget hands on as I show you the various positions you can birth in, as well as various non-medical pain management techniques. We will go over ways to use a birthing ball or peanut ball, comfort measures your partner can do, and ways to get that much needed rest throughout labor. (Approx. 2 hours)

2 Postpartum Visits:

  • First Visit: Within the first two weeks of baby’s birth you will have your first postpartum visit. The first part of this visit I will be ensuring that you are well fed and rested, caring for baby while you shower, eat, or take a much needed nap. The second part of the visit we can go over any questions or concerns you are having, talk about how feeding and sleeping is going, and talk about how you are feeling (physically, mentally, and emotionally).

  • Second Visit: Around six weeks postpartum you’ll have your second postpartum visit. Again, the first part will be ensuring that you are well fed and rested, caring for baby while you shower, eat, or take a much needed nap. The second part of the visit, if you are open to it, we can discuss and start processing your birth.

Birth Support:

-On Call Support: once you reach 38 weeks I’ll be ready and waiting for the call that its go time.

-Continuous Labor Support: once active labor has begun I will be with you; offering support (both physically and emotionally), advocating for your desires, making sure you are getting as much rest as possible, helping you make informed decisions, and making sure you stay the center of the birthing space.

-Immediate Postpartum Support: Don’t worry, once baby is here I’m not gonna leave you hanging. I’ll be with you for the first hour postpartum to make sure you and babe are both settled, to ensure your golden hours are being respected, to answer any questions you have, and to hopefully observe baby’s first feeding (and address any concerns surrounding it).

Ongoing Support:

I believe that pregnancy, birth, and postpartum are some of the most intense and sacred times in a woman’s life; they are also the times she needs the most support.

Because of that belief, I offer my clients on-going support through emails, phone calls, text messages, and/or the Marco Polo app.

From the time you start working with me through your second postpartum visit, I will be there to answer your questions and hold space for your emotions.
